Lots of excitement leading up to Open Day as Supawalls arrived under the supervision of PPC to erect our new durawall. This wall was donated by PPC, and Supawalls gave us a discount on it.
As with everything going on at the stables Pearl was there to supervise.
PPC organised a sign for us, and raised or moved our other sponsors signs so all was visible, then added their own signs.
We were in awe of how smart it all looked once completed. thank you PPC and Supawalls!
The whole stable yard was involved in the Open Day. Everybody worked very hard, and everybody had fun!
We got beautiful gifts and letters from the KGVI kids, they made these gifts themselves, an amazing feat when you consider most of them do not have use of their hands.
The Sandra Jones girls rode beautifully and showed how much they have grown in confidence over the year, and also showed horsemanship that we were proud of, nice still hands and compassionate treatment of their horses.
Michelle and Mandhla have shown a complete change in attitude this year, Michelle is happy and smiling instead of angry and resentful, and Mandhla has so much confidence now.
We were touched to have so many of our sponsors join us at our Open Day, thank you to National Foods, PPC, Profeeds, Safeguard, and Berghaan Foods for attending the Open Day. Thank you to Edgars for the donation of clothes which we will use for the kids in 2016. A big thank you to Viking Hardware for the donation of protective clothing for our grooms. Thank you to Veterinary Distributors for the donation of electrolytes and shampoo for the horses. It was nice to see some new faces as well, we hope that everyone heard what we had to say and understand what it is that Healing with Horses is actually all about. Thank you to Debbie from Sandra Jones Centre for your touching and enlightning speech, and to Jenny from Mind the Gap for her testimony on how our centre has helped some of her kids, and for going through the finances for everybody to hear and understand what we as Healing with Horses needs in order to continue with the work we are doing.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who has supported us through 2015, we wish you all a Happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year, stick with us through 2016, we appreciate each and every one of you. A SPECIAL thank you to our hard working and dedicated volunteers, what on earth would we do without you?
