Healing with Horses Zimbabwe was honoured to receive a donation from the McNelis family in memory of their special brother, David. We have heard so much about this wonderful man, and we feel privileged to be sharing the family’s words here on our webpage. A huge thank you to this amazing family, who have also recently gone through the loss of their precious mother, the backbone of their family. She is with David now, RIP Mrs McNelis and David, you and your family are in our hearts. Thank you.

In Honor of David Andrew McNelis (June 24, 1974 – February 16, 2019) children

Once a year, on our brother’s birthday, we celebrate his life and honor him by supporting a charity that helps others like our brother. For what would be David’s 46th birthday this year, we have chosen to support Healing with Horses in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe (Africa):  https://healingwithhorseszimbabwe.com  

Healing with Horses is the only PATH Intl. Therapeutic riding center in Africa, founded by Aileen Johnstone and Jilly Burgess. Children and adults within this program experience life-changing results.

With 40+ trained horses, it focuses on serving children in Africa. This program can only survive through the kindness of others in the form of donations and volunteer work.  Healing with Horses provides children with a new sense of confidence, hope and strength. David needed these qualities in life. We know he would feel privileged to help these children and support Jilly and her staff’s incredible work. The love these horses bring is unspoken. The love we have for David does not go away. He is missed and honored and forever dear in our hearts.  Thank you Jilly and the entire Healing with Horses team for what you do every day for these beautiful children.
